Emmy Award nominations for Beyond titles
Beyond’s ongoing commitment to bringing high quality television content to the Australian home entertainment market has been reaffirmed with the announcement of several Emmy Award nomimations for television programs released by Beyond on home video.


Deadliest Catch, the popular Discovery Channel series now into its tenth season, has received four nominations in the Unstructured Reality Program category, including Outstanding Program and Outstanding Cinematography. The reality series follows the exploits of a fleet of crab fishermen in Alaska’s deadly Bering Sea and has garnered a mainstream following with its mix of colourful characters and genuine danger. Beyond will release Deadliest Catch Season 10 on DVD in December 2014.

MythBusters, also celebrating ten years on television and produced by Beyond Productions for Discovery Channel, was nominated for Outstanding Structured Reality Program. Series hosts Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman are about to embark on their first-ever live stage show tour of Australia. A special DVD box set containing the complete eight seasons of MythBusters will be available for Christmas 2014.

The World Wars, the highly-anticipated global documentary programming event from History Channel, was nominated for Outstanding Documentary or Non-Fiction Series. The series explores the narrative of key historical figures like Adolf Hitler and Winston Churchill, and how their experiences in World War 1 would have a profound effect on the globe a generation later when the world was once again plunged into conflict. Beyond will release The World Wars on DVD and Blu-Ray in October 2014.

Up-and-comers Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele have received four nominations for their original Comedy Central sketch series, Key and Peele. The comedic duo, formerly of MADtv fame, have recently been tapped to produce the reboot of the famous Police Academy film franchise. Key & Peele Seasons 1 and 2 are currently available on DVD through Beyond.

The Spoils Of Babylon, the comedy mini-series produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay and starring Ferrell, Toby Maguire, Kristen Wiig, Val Kilmer and Tim Robbins, received two nominations, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Mini-Series for Kristen Wiig. Beyond released The Spoils Of Babylon on DVD and Blu-Ray in May 2014.

Meanwhile ESPN’s acclaimed 30 For 30 Shorts film series, which lifts the veil on some of the most compelling sports stories in history, was nominated for Outstanding Short-Format Non-Fiction Program. The original award-winning 30 For 30 Films series is available on DVD from Beyond.
